There’s nothing quite like having a beautiful turquoise lake as your backdrop while you’re making turns on the corduroy. That’s what you get if you ski one of the many resorts around Lake Tahoe.
Heavenly Ski Resort is unique in that you can start a run in Nevada and end in California. The terrain is varied at Heavenly, with 97 trails ranging from wide-open cruisers to plunging 1,600-foot chutes. You can access these trails by taking 1 of 28 chairlifts around the mountain, including nine high-speed lifts. Heavenly offers the most terrain in Lake Tahoe with 4,800 skiable acres and 3,500 vertical feet, which is unmatched on the West Coast. And to top it all off, it has an elevation of 10,067 elevation, the highest in Lake Tahoe.
After a day on the slopes, the Lake Tahoe area offers many options for nightlife or other ski alternatives. You could probably pull an all nighter with no problem with all the activities you have to choose from. On the south shore of Lake Tahoe are a plethora of casino options where you can try your hand at craps, black jack or other table games.

You don’t have to stay on the mountain and pay the ski in/out prices to have excellent access to the mountain. There are a number of hotels near the mountain that offer nearby access to the gondola that goes right into Heavenly Village. You can walk from several hotels in your ski boots right to the gondola and be on the trails within minutes.
So head out to Lake Tahoe and hit up Heavenly for an epic ski adventure. Bring some ibuprofen and pound some Red Bull after a weekend of skiing. You know what they say: Play all day and party all night, sleep when you get home.
