Our stay at Constance Halaveli in the Maldives was perfect from start to finish. There are so many islands and resorts to pick from when planning a trip to this magical Indian Ocean oasis. Finding the ideal resort that is right for you requires a lot of research and planning in order to make it a vacation you’ll never forget. We want to help make things a little easier by giving you an inside look at this amazing resort.
This resort started to impress us right after we booked our trip on Expedia. Within days we got an email directly from the resort confirming our reservation and asking us to send them our flight details and fill out a Holiday Planner. The planner asked if we had any food preferences, what we wanted for a pillow and if we wanted anything waiting for us in our room. Whenever we emailed them with questions, they were quick to respond.
When we arrived at the airport in the Maldives we were greeted by a Constance Resort employee that took us through the process of getting the seaplane transfer from the main island to our resort.
A very comfortable shuttle took us from the airport to the small domestic airport where the Constance Resorts lounge was located. Inside the lounge we found complimentary snacks, beverages and wifi. Once our plane was ready we were escorted to the aircraft that would take us to paradise.
A quick 30 minute plane ride was all it took to get us to our beautiful resort.
Once we arrived at our resort and pulled up to the dock, several employees met us at the dock to give us a warm welcome. We went down a long line of employees who shook our hands and greeted us with a smile. We were escorted to the reception area where we were given fresh juice to enjoy while we waiting to get checked in. A golf cart ride through the property and out to our overwater bungalow was next. We could not wait to get a glimpse of our bungalow that would be our home for the next week. Our bungalow was about half way down the jetty and just waiting to be explored.
The bungalow had 2 sections: bed and sitting area and on the other side, bathroom, soak tub, shower and closets. Our favorite part was outside. The amazing deck and pool area was waiting for us and calling our name.
Water sports and snorkeling are offered at the resort and ocean life is plentiful. We would be walking along the jetty or sitting on the deck and would be able to witness fish jumping out of water or a shark swimming underneath the bungalows.
Snorkeling can be done just by going down the steps at the bungalow or by taking a short walk down the jetty to access additional stairways to the water. There are also kayaks, windsurfing equipment, paddle boats and more offered as well.
The resort offers several options for food. Our stay included the half board option that offered breakfast and dinner at the buffet restaurant. We could have gone to a different restaurant and we would have $50/day per person to use. The food was so good at the buffet that we never tried anything else. For dinner, they offer a different theme each night. For example, during our stay the themes included Japanese, Indian, Middle Eastern and Italian food. Breakfast was traditional with the choice of eggs, pastas, fruit, bakery items and much more.
The scenery around the island made flying to the other side of the world and enduring 30+ hours of travel definitely worth it. The sand was soft and pure white and perfect for morning or evening strolls. To be honest, we never used the resort pool because we had our own private plunge pool back at our bungalow.
There were lounge chairs and hammocks to enjoy the sound of the waves rolling in. The island was perfect for searching for sea shells and enjoying the sunset.
On our last night we were given the perfect farewell, which we found on our bed after returning from dinner.
Our stay at Constance Halaveli couldn’t have been more perfect. From start to finish we were taken care of and our expectations were certainly surpassed. We have memories of a lifetime and we could not have asked for a better tropical getaway.
